Every Auxiliary Unit has activities dedicated to community veterans.

We invite you to join us as we support the combat wounded Patriots of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) and veterans and veteran organizations around the country. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart consists of Mothers, Wives, Sisters, Widows, Daughters, Stepdaughters, Granddaughters and legally adopted female lineal descendants of the Purple Heart recipient, even if the Purple Heart recipient is not a member of the MOPH.

  • Veterans Day Essay Contest

    This annual competition benefits the Chula Vista school district. The Essay question each year is “Why is it important to thank a Veteran.”

  • Community Support

    Supporting Purple Heart Truck Run, VA Medical Center in La Jolla, Fisher House San Diego, USO San Diego Airport Center, and many other organizations for veterans.

  • Special Events

    Unit 49 arranges the Chapter’s annual Christmas Luncheons and hosts the annual “Afternoon Tea” to benefit the women veterans at the Veterans Home in Chula Vista.

  • Chapter 49 Support

    We volunteer at the Chapter 49 Picnics in Balboa Park, and participate in the Rancho Bernardo Patriot’s Day Parade, as well as other San Diego Veterans’ Day Parades
